Lesotho Cycling hosted the Lesotho National Cycling Championships on 14 & 15 August 2010.  For the first time, mountain bike races and road races were held on consecutive days.

The mtb race was held on 14th August at Mokhethoaneng (Ha Makebe) just on the outskirts of Maseru.  The track was a 5km circuit with some tricky technical sections.  Tumisang Taabe dominated the main event of 30km after his main rival, Phetetso Monese suffered a puncture on the second lap.  Lichaba West won the under 16 event of 20kms and even continued an extra lap to beat the under 18 riders as well.

Summary MTB:

Men Elite/u23 30km:  TAABE, Tumisang: 1:28:00

Under 16 boys 20km:  WEST, Lichaba: 1:04:19

Junior Boys 17-18 years 25km:  TOHLANG, Lechesa: 1:31:16

Masters Men 30km:  MAKATILE, Moeketsi: 1:43:08

Women 15km:  NAKELI, Reentseng: 1:55:00

The road race was held on 15th August, along Kofi Annan road between Semphethenyane and Pena-Pena making a circuit of 10km.  In the main race of 100km, Phetetso Monese managed to avenge his second place in the mtb race impressively, riding the last 50km on his own at the front.  Winner of the Masters category for over 30s, Moeketsi Makatile, finished second overall.  18 year-old Lechesa Tohlang won the junior category.

Men Elite/u23 100km:  MONESE, Phetetso: 3:06:43

Masters Men 100km:  MAKATILE, Moeketsi: 3:13:35

Junior Boys 17-18 years 50km:  TOHLANG, Lechesa: 1:25:23
